VMDAEC Education Scholarship Foundation - Deadline: February 8, 2019

^^Daughters of the American Revolution American Indian Scholarships - Deadline: February 15, 2019

This scholarship is awarded to help Native American students of any age, any tribe and in any state striving to get an education at the undergraduate or graduate level. However, undergraduate students will be given preference.  Applicants must be Native American (proof of American Indian blood is required by letter or proof papers) in financial need and have a GPA of 3.25 or higher. ^^Hispanic Scholarship Fund - Deadline: February 15, 2019

The HSF Scholarship is designed to assist students of Hispanic heritage obtain a university degree. Scholarships are available, on a competitive basis, to: high school seniors, undergraduate students (all years), Community college students transferring to four year universities and Graduate students. Award amounts range from $500 to $5,000, based on relative need, among the Scholars selected. Requirements: Must be of Hispanic heritage, Minimum high school GPA 3.0, Minimum for ndergraduate and graduate school is 2.5. Plans to enroll full-time in an accredited, not-for-profit, four-year university or graduate school during the fall of a scholarship cycle (year). National Co-Op Scholarship (WACE) - Deadline: February 15, 2019

The National Co-Op scholarship applies only to the following institutions: Clarkson University, Drexel University, Johnson & Wales University, Merrimack College, Rochester Institute of Technology, State University of New York Oswego, University of Cincinnati, The University of Toledo, Wentworth Institute of Technology. To qualify, students must A a GPS of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale, apply for admission for the 2019-2020 academic year at any of the institutions listed above, meet other merit

Rappahannock Community College Educational Foundation Scholarships - Deadline: February 15, 2019

Dependent unmarried children under age 23 of active duty personnel, reserve/guard and retired military members or survivors of service members who died while on active duty or survivors of individuals who died while receiving retired pay from the military, may apply for a scholarship. Submit a 500-word essay. High School applicant GPA 3.0+, College applicant GPA 2.5+ Applicants must validate their eligibility as a military dependent by entering the benefits number found on the reverse the DD Form 1173 Identification Privilege Card. Gordon A Rich Memorial Scholarship - Deadline: February 20, 2019

College scholarship money is available to offspring of those working in the financial service industry. Each GAR scholarship is worth up to $50,000 (approx. $12,500 per year) awarded to bright, hardworking high school seniors who have a financial need. VSGA - VIP (Virginia State Golf Association) Scholarship Foundation - Deadline: February 20, 2019

P.L.A.Y. Scholarships for High School Students Animal Lovers - Deadline: February 28, 2019

To apply, seniors will submit an essay with 2-3 photos of their volunteer efforts to help animals in need and how that involvement has changed their lives or shaped their perceptions on the importance of animal welfare. Essay should be between 500-1000 words. Send a Word doc attachment to scholarship@petplay.com with your essay submission. George E. Allen Scholarship - Deadline: March 1, 2019

This scholarship is designed to recognize students who, despite obstacles or special challenges, have achieved high standards of performance. Fifteen $1,500 scholarships will be awarded to high school throughout Virginia.  Application available at www.allenandallen.com/scholarships


^^Anchor Scholarship Foundation - Deadline: March 1, 2019

Applicant must be a dependent of a US Navy Sailor (Active Duty, Retired, Honorably Discharged or Deceased). Child that is a high school senior or current college student planning to, or currently pursuing full time, your first four-year degree (BA or BS) at a four-year college or university in the United States. ^^American Chemical Society - Deadline: March 1, 2019

The ACS Scholars Program awards renewable scholarships to underrepresented minority students majoring in undergraduate chemistry-related disciplines, and are also intending to pursue careers in chemistry-related fields. Selected recipients are awarded up to $5,000* per academic year. To date, over 3,000 students have received a funding from the ACS Scholars Program. Colonial Agricultural Education Foundation Endowment - Deadline: March 1, 2019

Educational scholarships are awarded to students who are furthering their education through attendance at a college, university, vocational, or trade school. This contest is open to all high school, college and university students enrolled during the time period of the contest in an academic program designed to conclude with the awarding of a diploma or a degree are welcome to participate in this scholarship competition. Submit original photo, artwork or computer graphics for the front of a greeting card. Contest submissions accepted from: May 31st, 2018 - March 1st, 2019. Winner will be announced May 1st, 2019. ESA Youth Scholarship Program (Electronic Security Assoc. of VA) - Deadline: March 1, 2019

Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation - Deadline: March 1, 2019

Applicants must be the child of one of the following: Active duty or reserve US Marine. Veteran US Marine who has received an honorable discharge, or who was killed while serving in the US Marine Corps. Active duty or reserve US Navy Corpsman who is serving, or has served, with a US Marine unit. Veteran US Navy Corpsman who served with a US Marine unit and has received an honorable discharge, or was killed while serving in the US Navy as a Corpsman attached to a Marine unit. Additionally, applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria: GPA of 2.00 or better. Family adjusted gross income for the 2017 tax year that does not exceed $98,000. Non-taxable allowances are not included in determining adjusted gross income. Virginia Credit Union Scholarship - Deadline: March 1, 2019

Virginia Credit Union will award 30 scholarships for qualified student members, up to $2,500 each for tuition and fees for the upcoming academic year. Seniors may apply online at www.vacu.org   Information brochures are available in the Counseling office.


Virginia PTA Scholarship - Deadline: March 1, 2019

Virginia PTA offers $1,000 scholarships to graduating Virginia high school students from an active PTA/PTSA in good standing. The scholarship is awarded based on a demonstrated commitment to, and engagement in, community service. Financial need and academic achievement are also considered.  The number of scholarships awarded each year depends on proceeds of special Virginia PTA awards. GPA 2.5 or better. Tevin Jones Scholarship Fund - Deadline: March 4, 2019

In honor of Torrey’s late brother, Tevin Jones, the Torrey Smith Family Fund awards four annual college scholarships to high school seniors. Recipients of the scholarship are awarded $5,000, distributed over four years. Requirements include: high school senior entering college in the fall of 2019, resides in Maryland, Virginia or Pennsylvania, acceptance to an accredited four-year college, university or equivalent, come from a low-income household, GPA of 3.0 or higher, involvement in an extra-curricular activity, complete the full application, including a completed student aid report from the FAFSA or the CSS profile. ^^Dahlgren Officers' Spouses' Club Rosemarie Blades Honorary Scholarship - Deadline: March 9, 2019

Military Affiliation: Graduating high school seniors, and undergraduate students  who are dependents of military personnel currently or previously assigned to Dahlgren as a permanent duty station. Applicants must provide government orders showing sponsor's permanent change in duty station to Dahlgren VA, see application for more details. Kenneth R. Scott Scholarship (V.A.O.C) - Deadline: March 9, 2019

Named in honor of Kenneth School whose career spanned 39 years with the Norfolk Airport Authority He was instrumental in forming the Virginia Airport Operators Council (V.A.O.C.). Mr. Scott was extremely passionate about aviation training and education as evidenced by his role as an Adjunct Faculty Member for Embry-RIddle Aeronautical University and serving on the Virginia Aviation and Space Education Forum. Applicants must be a Virginia high school senior, GPA 3.5 +, be planning a career in the field of aviation and must be enrolled or accepted into an aviation-related program at an accredited college. John R. Lillard VAOC Scholarship - Deadline: March 9, 2019

The Virginia Airport Operators Council honors John R. Lillard, friend, aviation enthusiast and humanitarian. Mr. Lillard has held leadership positions with the Capital Region Airport Commission, Chesterfield County Airport and Eastern Airlines.  Applicants must be a Virginia high school senior, have a minimum GPA of 3.5, be planning a career in the field of aviation and must be enrolled or accepted into an aviation-related program at an accredited college. Lockheed  Martin STEM Scholarship Program - Deadline: March 12, 2019

Applicants to the Lockheed Martin STEM Scholarship Program must meet the following eligibility requirements: U.S. Citizens, Current high school seniors with a cumulative 3.5 or above GPA, or current college freshmen or sophomores with a cumulative 3.0 or above GPA. Planning to enroll or already enrolled full-time at an accredited four-year college or university in the U.S. Majoring or planning to major in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Math, Physics, Information Systems/Management Information Systems or Information Assurance. Demonstrate financial need. Be willing to consider a paid internship with Lockheed Martin following freshman, sophomore or junior year of college, other circumstances notwithstanding. (Note: The internship is not required to receive a scholarship.) Awards: If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $10,000 award. Up to 200 awards will be granted in 2019. Awards may be renewed for up to three additional years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first. Renewal is contingent upon satisfactory academic performance in a full-time course of study, continued enrollment in an eligible major, and continuation of the program by Lockheed Martin. American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE) - Deadline: March 15, 2019

Since its founding in 1977, the AABE organization has always been committed to building the pipeline of minority energy professionals. Rita Berkey Memorial Scholarship (P.E.O. Foundation) - Deadline: March 15, 2019

This $500 scholarship will be awarded to a senior high school female entering a full-time course of study in a service-oriented profession. Essay, letters of recommendation needed. Selection will be based on academic record, community service, financial need, extra-curricular activities and character. Application available below and in the Counseling office.


The Society of the Cincinnati in the State of Virginia History Essay Contest for College Scholarship - Deadline: March 15, 2019

The Society of the Cincinnati in the State of Virginia is sponsoring this essay contest for any Virginia high school senior who will attend any four-year college or university in the Commonwealth of Virginia beginning in the fall of 2019. The Society will award a $3,000 scholarship to the author of each of the four essays that are judged to be the most outstanding. Willard G. Plentl Sr. Aviation Scholarship - Deadline: March 18, 2019

The Willard G. Plentl Aviation Scholarship, in the amount of $1,000 will be awarded to a Virginia High School senior who is planning an aviation career in a non-engineering area. A certification of acceptance into a non-engineering, aviation-related post-secondary education program is required. Examples of non-engineering aviation careers include (but are not limited to) pilots, aviation maintenance technicians, aviation managers, etc. Minimum GPA 3.5. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.'s Carrie Hill Tatum Memorial Scholarship - Deadline: March 22, 2019

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., is a service organization composted of predominantly Black college educated women. A major focus of the Sorority is centered on Educational Development. They annually award scholarships to deserving high school seniors attending schools in their service area, of which King George County is included. Greater Rappahannock (VA) Chapter of The Links Scholarship - Deadline: March 29, 2019

The Greater Rappahannock (VA) Chapter of The Links will award four scholarships, in the amount of $1,200 each, to be awarded to four outstanding African-American students in their service area.  In addition The Sandra Holland King Educational Scholarship in the amount of $1,200 will be given to a student majoring in the field of Education and a student attending a Historically Black College or University (HBCU) will be awarded a scholarship in the amount of $1,200, for a total of six non-renewable scholarships.


^^VCTA Virginia's Future Leaders Scholarship - Deadline: March 30, 2019

Any resident of Virginia attending a 2- or 4-year college or university located in Virginia in undergraduate studies in academic year 2019-2020 is eligible. American Postal Workers Union, AFL-CIO Scholarship Programs - Deadline: March 31, 2019

Three different scholarships are available for seniors who are either a child, grandchild, stepchild, or legally adopted child, of a current, retired or deceased APWU member. Scholarship awards range from $500 to $4,000. Scholarships: E.C. Hallbeck Scholarship, Vocational Scholarship and Best Essay Award. Apply online at www.apwu.org/issues/scholarships


Janice M. Scott Memorial Scholarship - Deadline: March 31, 2019

High school seniors who are a US citizen or permanent resident with a GPA of 3.0 or higher and who will matriculate full-time at a fully accredited four-year college or university within the fifty states or the District of Columbia may apply. Applicant must have demonstrated leadership abilities through participating in community services or there extra-curricular activities. Parent(s) combined adjusted income cannot exceed $50,000. Legacy of Life Scholarship - Deadline: March 31, 2019

As a high school senior, you have the power to raise awareness about the importance of registering to be an organ, eye and tissue donor through the Leslie Ebert Scholarship Program. Write a persuasive essay and/or produce a video that educates, then motivates, an audience to become registered organ, eye and tissue donors. Send essay submissions to essayscholarship@wrtc.org and video submissions to videoscholarship@wrtc.org  Essay must not exceed 1,000 words. NSWC Federal Credit Union Scholarship - Deadline: March 31, 2019

Graduating high school seniors who are a member of NSWC Federal Credit Union may apply and enter this scholarship. Application must be completed by applicant,along with a 300-500 word essay on "How I hope to help others by furthering my education". One scholarship will be awarded for $3,000. American Fire Sprinkler Assoc. (AFSA) High School Scholarships - Deadline: April 1, 2019

Open to high school seniors who are citizens or aliens legally residing in the USA. Scholarship funds are payable to the winner's college/university or certified trade school in the U.S. winner must enroll for classes beginning no later that Fall 2019. Falmouth High School Alumni Assoc., Bill Bolton Scholarship - Deadline: April 5, 2019

To be eligible for this scholarship, the applicant, graduating senior, must be a DIRECT descendant of a person who attended Falmouth High School between the years of 1931-1956. Application available below and in the Counseling office.


Fredericksburg Area Service League Scholarships - Deadline: April 5, 2019

The FASL is a philanthropic woman's organization committed to improving the lives of area children. The League will present eight $1,000 scholarships to high school senior applicants who have been accepted by and plan to continue their education in either a two or four year accredited program. Candidates must hold a minimum 3.0 GPA and submit two letters of recommendation, one from a school administrator or faculty member and one from a community member. Applicants must also submit an essay, 250 to 500 words in length, entitled "How I Make A Difference."  Information and application available below and in the Counseling Office.


Lauren A. Davies Memorial Scholarship - Deadline: April 5, 2019

The Lauren A. Davies Memorial Scholarship is being awarded to any graduating senior who has overcome significant challenges with courage and determination to further his/her education. Applicant must be a senior in high school, whose plans include advanced education through college, business, nursing, technical training or a similar program. Applicant must be a physically challenged student with an acute or chronic health problem (physical, neurological, mental, visual, hearing, speech impaired disorder), a physical disability or impairment caused by disease or other causes. (Impairment would include epilepsy, diabetes, etc.) Application available below and in the Counseling office.


^^Charles J. Colgan Scholarship - Deadline: April 12, 2019

A $2,000 scholarship will be awarded to a well deserving Virginia resident High School, Technical School Senior or College/University Undergraduate who is pursuing an aviation related career at an accredited institution. GPA 3.0+, two letters of recommendation, essay on "Why I Wish to Pursue a Career in Aviation" or "Why Aviation is Important to the Commonwealth of Virginia". Proof of acceptance into an aviation-related post-secondary education program or proof of good standing in an existing program located in the Commonwealth of Virginia.



Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity-Rho Zeta Sigma Alumni Chapter Scholarship - Deadline: April 12, 2019

The Fraternity will be awarding three $1,000 scholarships for high school graduating male students in their service area. GPA 2.5+, proof of admission letter, two letters of recommendation and written replays to questions on application.  


Diabetes Scholars - Deadline: April 15, 2019

The Diabetes Scholars will be awarding approximately 50 individual scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 each to high school seniors headed to college/university in 2019 living with Type 1 diabetes. They also offer a set of scholarships with unique parameters like prospective major, geographic location, or excellence in athletics or the arts. There is one application to be considered for any and all of the scholarships-all students who apply will be considered for those scholarships that match them. ^^The Armenian Education Center Scholarship - Deadline: April 17, 2019

This essay contest is open to public, private and home-school ninth through twelfth grade students. The award is a $1,000 scholarship. The essay addresses the second part of SOL World History II, 11d that examines the Holocaust and other examples of genocide in the twentieth century. Criteria and essay question are available below and in the Counseling office.



**New**Diggin' for Dougie Memorial Scholarship - Deadline: April 19, 2019

The Brown family will award two $500 scholarship this year to two students from the Fredericksburg and surrounding area high schools (public or private). Applicant must be high school seniors planning to play volleyball at the collegiate level.


The NAACP John T. Steward Memorial Scholarship - Deadline: April 19, 2019

Graduating seniors are encouraged to apply. Two recommendations and 500 word essay required from one of the topics listed on application.


2019 Student-View Scholarship Program - Deadline: April 22, 2019

The 2019 Student-View Scholarship Program is offering $11,000 worth of scholarships to high school seniors who plan to attend a 4-year college, community/junior college or career college. The program includes one $4,000 scholarship, two $1,000 scholarships and ten $500 scholarships. Fredericksburg Area Builders Association's Steigleder Family Scholarship Fund - Deadline: May 1, 2019

The Board of Directors of the Fredericksburg Area Builders Foundation awards scholarships on behalf of The Steigleder Family Scholarship Fund to one or more academically outstanding students who qualify for admission, and will attend (or who are already attending) the University of Richmond as a full-time undergraduate student. The scholarship can be as much as $6,500.00 renewable each year, provided that the recipient(s) continues to be enrolled as an undergraduate at the University of Richmond and maintains satisfactory academic citizenship. ^^SunTrust Off to College Scholarship Sweepstakes - Deadline: May 13, 2019

High school seniors or college undergraduates can enter to win one of the $500 awards. It's free to enter and eligibility is not based on GPA level or financial need. Entries are being accepted now through May 13, 2019. The first drawing will occur on or about October 29, 2018. Subsequent drawings are approximately every two weeks thereafter until May 13, 2019. The Caring.com Scholarship - Deadline: June 30, 2019

Two scholarships of $1,500 are awarded each year to student-caregivers to help cover costs of tuition and books.
