Sergeant Wright

Hi,I just wanted to help with adding a little information to the parents & students about me.
I
have been in Law Enforcement for over 20 years, I am presently
employed with the Colonial Beach Police Department as a Sergeant from
the Patrol Division.and now the new SRO (School Resource Officer)., for
Colonial Beach High School. I have a wide variety of teachings and
training, from the Rappahannock Criminal Justice Academy, and Prince
William Criminal Justice Academy,. My present training through the
Colonial Beach Police Department , I have received my training as a BAC
(Breath Analysis Operator) at the Department of Forensics in Richmond,
Virginia.. My Supervisors training and SRO Training is through the
Virginia State Police Academy and Virginia Polytechnic University., all
certifications are through the Department of Criminal Justice. It is
obvious that this is not just a Job, but it is my Career.
I am
the proud Mother of 5, wonderful , smart, entrepreneur Children, 13
beautiful, smart Grandchildren,. I am very blessed to have had the help
from God, my Parents, my Family and some special Friends, who all stood
by me when iI decided to make Law Enforcement my Career. My
Grand-Parents would always say, "It takes a Village to raise a child",
with that being said as adults we know that our children need our
guidance in building a healthy, obedient adult. life. I know that our
children have a lack of maturity and an under-developed since of
responsibility that can lead to recklessness, impusivity &
restraint. Our children can be vulnerable to negative influences and
outside pressures, from their peers, and sometimes family.. They may in
some instances have "limited control" over their own environment &
lack the ability to extricate themselves from horrific crime producing
settings, thus one of the reasons why I accepted this position as School
Resource Officer..While having the Passion for the job, I have an even
more so Compassion for our young children. My goal will be to produce a
safe, educational environment and daily focus on them reaching their
goals.and not end up in the Criminal System .I truly believe that
education is one of the major keys to their success..

Wright.
